The Romanian-born cellist has played concerts with major orchestras, recitals and chamber music in Spain, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Romania and U.S.A. Fiery temperament and superb musicianship make him an ideal chamber music recitalist. A graduate of the Bucharest Music Academy he studied with Serafim Antropov, Petre Lefterescu, Uzi Wiesel and Laszlo Meszo. He won top prizes in Romanian National Mu sic Festivals and in Florence Vittorio Gui International Chamber Music Competition.
Mr. Atanasiu has participated in numerous prestigious music festivals like Bayreuth Youth Festival, International Music Seminar Weimar, Hitzacker Chamber Music Academy and Carmel Bach Festival.
Mr. Atanasiu teaches cello at Rowan University of New Jersey and currently is associate conductor for Mai n Line Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. He has given Master Classes at Trenton State College, Eastern Nazarene College and in Romania. Mr. Atanasiu will be teaching at The Conservatory of Musical Arts on Mondays. Mike Cemprola Woodwinds
Mike has earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and has performed and taught in Philadelphia/New Jersey/New York since 2002. He is a regular member of various jazz/rock/R&B/classical ensembles, including his own original quartet, the Lars Halle Jazz Orchestra, Ben Schachter’s Cephalopod, and various others. Having played and taught across the United States, Europe, and South America, he believes that everyone can play music and have fun in the process!Returning CMA Faculty Member, Mike Cemprola will be teaching at The Conservatory of Musical Arts on Tuesdays.
